Money
- Gross sales
- What buyers paid for items, before deductions. More than what reached you.
- Net profit
- What the period left you after fees, shipping, refunds, cost of goods, giveaways, boosts and expenses.
- Gross profit
- Sales less cost of goods, before fees and overheads. Judges the stock apart from the operation.
- Margin
- Profit as a share of revenue: how much of each dollar you kept.
- ROI
- Profit as a share of stock cost: how hard your money worked.
- Effective take
- Commission, processing and tax on fees as a percentage of gross. The rate actually charged on a night.
- Billback
- What whatnot charges you on a refund: the buyer's shipping and the processing fee. It's why a refund costs money even when the item comes home.
Stock
- Lot
- One purchase: a case, a pallet, a collection, a box. Holds what you paid and a rule for sharing it out.
- Landed cost
- Everything a lot cost: price, inbound shipping, tax, fees, and anything else you paid only because of it.
- Allocation
- Turning a lot's landed cost into a cost per sale, using one of four rules.
- Item
- A single named piece with its own row: a hit, a graded card, a pair of sneakers. Everything else stays in its lot's pool.
- Uncosted
- A sale with no stock cost yet. Counted in revenue, kept out of profit, listed in Decisions.
- Aging
- How long on-hand stock has sat unsold, and how much money is in it.
- Disposition
- What happened to a refunded item: back in stock, written off, or not returned. It decides whether its cost stays expensed.
Shows
- Per streamed hour
- Net profit divided by hours live. Compares a long show with a short one.
- The floor
- Your target profit per streamed hour. Drives the prep sheet, the warnings, and when a show is marked as having stopped paying.
- Pace
- A show cut into fifteen-minute slices, showing where the room peaked and fell away.
- Stopped paying
- The end of the last thirty-minute stretch that cleared your floor. No later half hour did.
- Sell-through
- The share of what you put up that sold.
- Estimated
- A Show Report figure, priced from the published schedule because whatnot hasn't charged it yet.
- Pull sheet
- Sold items to pull and pack, grouped by location or buyer.
Fees and periods
- Commission
- whatnot's share of the item price, at the rate for your category, region and tier.
- Processing
- The payment fee: a percentage of everything the buyer paid, shipping and tax included, plus a fixed amount per checkout.
- Tier
- The commission band your sales volume puts you in. Read from each weekly report.
- Fee check
- An order charged more than the published schedule allows. Accept it or raise it with whatnot.
- Period
- A calendar month in your time zone. Closing one freezes its allocated costs.
- Exposure
- What you're carrying. Shipping exposure is labels you paid for plus later surcharges.
