Net profit, profit per streamed hour and the line-by-line P&L: what each figure on a show page counts.

Updated · 5 min read

The two main figures

A show page opens with net profit and profit per streamed hour. The rest of the page explains them.

Net profit
What the night left you. Gross sales, less commission and processing, labels, refunds and their billbacks, stock cost, giveaways, boosts and any expenses booked to the show.
Per streamed hour
Net profit divided by hours live. It compares a four-hour show with a ninety-minute one. It turns orange below the hourly target in your settings.

If you record prep and packing time on the show, you'll also see the per-hour figure with that time counted. For most sellers that's the truer number.

Other figures

Gross sales
What buyers paid for items, before deductions. Shown with order count, buyer count, repeat buyers and average sale.
Effective take
Commission, processing and tax on fees, as a percentage of gross. The rate whatnot actually charged that night.
ROI
Profit against the cost of goods sold. It says whether the stock was worth buying, apart from whether the show was worth doing.
Per buyer
Profit divided by the number of buyers. Ten loyal buyers and a hundred strangers are different businesses.
Per viewer
Profit per viewer, once you enter the viewer count from whatnot. Sell-through sits beside it.

The P&L

Below the tiles is every line from what buyers paid to what you kept. Click any line to see its sales. Every cost has its own named line.

Giveaways get a line too. The item left the shelf and you usually paid for the label, so three giveaways put the night behind before it starts.

Why profit changes later

Three reasons, and all settle within a couple of weeks:

  • Orders complete late, so next Monday's report adds sales to the night they were won.
  • Real charges from the weekly report replace a Show Report's estimated fees.
  • A refund lands, taking out the sale and the fees whatnot billed back.

Then it holds steady. A closed month keeps the figures it closed with.
