How fees are worked out
whatROI recomputes every sale from whatnot's published schedule, so a charge above the rate card gets flagged.

Every sale is recomputed
The Weekly Orders Report says what whatnot charged. whatROI works out what whatnot's published schedule says it should have charged, and compares the two.
That's how the fee checks in Decisions can spot an overcharged order.
Parts of a fee
- Commission
- A share of the item price only, after any coupon you funded. The rate depends on category, region and tier. Some categories cap it: a high-value order pays commission up to the threshold and nothing above.
- Payment processing
- A percentage of everything the buyer paid, shipping and sales tax included, plus a fixed amount per checkout. Each item a buyer wins is its own checkout.
- Tax on fees
- In some regions whatnot charges tax on its commission and processing. Where it applies, it gets its own line.
- Shipping
- Who paid for the label, and any carrier surcharge added later when a package was heavier than declared. It moves the same money a fee does.
Your tier
In several regions, commission comes in tiers: sell more in a four-week period and the next period's rate drops. whatROI reads your tier from each weekly report, along with Premier Shop status, so it matches what whatnot applied.
Settings shows your region's schedule, each category's rate, any cap, and the tier from your last report. The schedule was last checked against whatnot's help centre in September 2026.
When a charge doesn't match
A gap of a cent or two is rounding and ignored. Anything larger becomes a fee check showing the order, the charge, the schedule rate and the gap.
The usual explanations:
- whatnot applied a promotional or test rate to that order.
- Your tier changed partway through the period.
- The charge was wrong. Raise it with whatnot.
Accepting a check tells the app the charge was right for that order. Read them before accepting in bulk.
Estimates
A Show Report has no fees because they haven't been charged yet. whatROI prices those orders from the schedule and marks them estimated until the weekly report confirms them. Estimates are fine for decisions. Use confirmed figures for a tax return.
