The month at a glance

Money covers the whole month. Gross sales and tips at the top, then every line that took money out, down to what you kept.

The lines: commission, payment processing and whatnot's tax on its fees. Shipping labels you paid for. Refunds and their billbacks. Cost of goods sold. Giveaways. Boost spend. Expenses. Each has its own line.

Which month a sale is in

The P&L counts a sale in the month the order was placed. That's when you did the work and the stock left the shelf, so months compare fairly.

Reconciling against a whatnot statement uses the day the transaction completed, when it reached your balance. Expect small differences near month ends.

Shipping exposure

This panel tracks labels you paid for, giveaway labels, and carrier surcharges added later when a package was heavier or larger than declared.

It's broken down per show, with label spend as a share of gross. A show well above your usual share often means your shipping policy no longer fits what you sell.

Close a month

Closing a month freezes its allocated costs. Change a lot's rule later and only open months are re-costed. Closed months stay as reported.
