Check against payouts

Reconcile a month against your whatnot statement to find the fee, refund or adjustment behind a gap.

Why the numbers differ

whatROI adds up your orders. Your bank shows what whatnot sent. A gap usually comes from one of four things: an order not yet completed, a refund posted after month end, a later shipping surcharge, or a fee off the rate card.

Reconciling shows which one, on which line.

Reconcile a month

  1. Download the monthly Seller Statement from whatnot

It's the official record of the month, under Finances on whatnot.com.

  2. Type its totals into the Money page

Gross sales, tips, commission, processing, tax on fees, boost spend, seller shipping, surcharges, refunds and payouts. Ten numbers, once a month.

  3. Read the difference column

Each line shows the statement figure, your imports' total, and the gap. A mismatched line tells you where to look.

Dates and small gaps

Reconciliation counts a transaction on the day it completed, as a whatnot statement does. The P&L pages count an order on the day it was placed.

Small gaps at the turn of a month are expected. Chase a large gap, or any gap on a line that shouldn't move.
